MHPA State Affairs Conference Offers Forum to Address Medicaid Issues
June 19, 2006
Seattle, WA — Adaptis, a leading single source provider of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) solutions for health payers, today announced that is sponsoring a presentation by strategic partner Derek Jansen, PhD, MHP, CCP and founder of Practice Management Alternatives, LLC, at the Medicaid Health Plans of America (MHPA) State Affairs Conference. The all-new, three day event, focused exclusively on “Medicaid and the States”, will take place June 28-30 at the Westin City Center in Dallas, Texas. On behalf of Adaptis, Dr. Jansen will discuss “Health Plan and Provider Joint Compliance Activities: Helping the Provider Comply helps the business relationship and helps the Health Plan Comply” on Thursday, June 29th at 11:30 a.m.
Geared to senior health plan executives, policy-makers, physician leaders, and Federal and State representatives, the conference will provide a forum for learning about the status of Medicaid issues on the forefront of this year’s State legislative agendas. In addition to compliance, topics include Medicaid reform, Medicaid trends, cost sharing and personal responsibility, Medicaid expansion, technology, E-prescribing, long-term care, rate-setting, pay-for-performance, and waste, fraud and abuse.
According to Dr. Jansen, compliance expert, as well as a noted lecturer and author, “The face of corporate compliance needs to rapidly change to create what the Office of the Inspector General calls ‘a culture of compliance’. One key to health plans achieving a culture of compliance is to ensure provider compliance, which requires highly effective training and communication.” Jansen’s presentation will provide attendees with strategic tips for ensuring joint compliance between health plans and providers. Jansen says this is critical and will explain how, “Developing joint compliance activities creates a win-win; when a provider is better able to comply it not only helps the business relationship, but has the added benefit of also helping the health plan comply.”
Attending health plan executives will find the recent PMA publication “Health Plans and Systems: Help your provider network keep you in Compliance with new regulations” an excellent supplement to the presentation.
