Board of Directors

Carlos Olivares

Chairman of the Adaptis Board

Executive Director of the Yakima Valley Workers Clinic

A few words from Carlos Olivares: It’s gratifying to be on the board of a company that is not only innovative but committed to the community. I’m originally from Bolivia and have been with the Farm Workers Clinic since 1986. When I joined the clinic it was a loosely organized one-state, five-clinic network. Today it is a managed care organization with 22 clinic and program sites covering Washington and Oregon. I currently serve on several other committees and boards, including as chairman of the National Association of Community Health Centers’ Farmworker Health Committee and member of the Oregon Primary Care Association and the Community Health Plan of Washington. In 2003, I was honored to be the recipient of the Washington Health Foundation’s Heroes of health care Award for Leadership.

Several skilled professionals join me on the Adaptis board, providing leadership support to the company’s executive team.

The health care strength of our board is represented by Greg Brandenburg, executive director of the Columbia Basin Health Association (CBHA); Darnell Dent, CEO of Community Health Plan and Community Health Network of Washington; Peg Hopkins, executive director of the Community Health Association of Spokane; Mark Judy, chief executive officer of Valley General Hospital; and Linda McVeigh, executive director of Country Doctor Community Health Centers. They bring operational and functional, community-based and private health care knowledge from care centers ranging from small mobile clinics to large hospitals. Their practical insight guides Adaptis in usable emerging trends, services, and regulatory impacts on community-based health.

On the business and technology side we have the expertise of Kari Glover, attorney and managing partner with Preston Gates & Ellis LLP, and Scott Hardman, managing director at Alexander Hutton Inc. They keep us aware of the business resources and technology advances we need to develop sound strategies for growth and make viable choices to better serve our customers.

When you look at the backgrounds of these professionals, you’ll see how they guide Adaptis on its dual-track road of health care business services.
